5% of citizens unemployed in Alameda County in 2021

Alameda County recorded an unemployment rate of 5% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 46,498 people out of the 1,673,133 living in Alameda County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Alameda County has increased compared to the 4.7% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Alameda County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 6.5%.

Of the 875,992 people who had a job during that time, 1,429 were employed in the Armed Forces and 874,563 belonged to the civilian labor force.
